They represent just a few practice opportunities and not a statistically significant sample size.

MIPS 2018 QUALITY REPORTING FOR INPATIENT PHYSIATRISTS
|
|
| The MIPS program for 2018 is more challenging than the 2017 year. In 2017, in order to avoid a 4% penalty in 2019, a provider was required to report one measure, one time – piece of cake! However, in 2018, the Quality Reporting requirement has been increased to 6 measures for the full year.
Recommendations MIPS 2018 – Inpatient Physiatrists
We have analyzed Quality Reporting options for Inpatient Practices, and it continues to be difficult to locate 6 quality measures to meet the MIPS requirements without uprooting your private practice. However, there is a way to report less than 6 measures, and still meet the Quality requirements. This can be accomplished by reporting applicable measures from the Specialty Set for Physical Medicine, namely Measures #47-Care Plan, #130-Meds Documented, and #131-Pain Assessment. If you report these 3 measures, CMS will apply Eligible Measure Applicability (EMA) criteria, and the results will probably show that these 3 measures were sufficient to satisfy your Quality Reporting requirement in 2018.
