• Augusta – 2 hours from Atlanta, on the border of SC
Facility Features:
• Augusta – 72-bed, state-of-the-art freestanding rehab hospital; 51 ADC; the internists do the admissions; share the inpatients with the Medical Director
• Private rooms with flat screen televisions, telephones and wireless internet capabilities
• Have three IM that are “a little PM&R” that are serving as their attending physicians. They consult PM&R for the rehab requirements. They cover in a pinch and when taking call on the weekends and approve pre-screens. They don’t currently cover team conferences or write functional notes, but function as hospitalists during the week and can help again with the pre-screen approvals on the weekends so it spreads out the amount of call everyone. Also have 2 physiatrists.
