Facility Features:

• Growing program, academically and clinically; join 2 physiatrists and 2 NP’s
• The 30-bed rehab unit is a general PMR program with a balanced mix of stroke, spine, ortho, transplant and cancer patients, and others
• ADC – 19
• Newly-renovated top-of-the-line gym; New Dago robotic mobility equipment, Bioness Multiservice System, SES bike
• Physiatry is a strong partner in the division in the Department of Neurology with full support from the Chair
• EMR-Cerner
• Their discharge rate (percentage of patients discharged to home) of 82% beats the national average of 77%
• Imaging, OR, wound care, etc. readily available
• There are 2 rotations for medical students, one elective and one for 3rd and 4th year medical students

Responsibilities:

• Support an already strong and successful inpatient rehabilitation program
• All inpatient work-stroke, SCI but not trauma, transplant, ortho oncology, wound care, lymphedema, oncology disease like brain tumors, left ventricular assistive devices, etc.
• See approximately 9 inpatients/day; round every day
• Cover your own service
• Primary doctor for the patients
• Help grow this academic program
• Clinical instructor or assistant professor position
• Present grand rounds once a year
• Interest in cancer work is ideal but not required. Help strengthen the relationship with the Cancer Institute by doing consults at the Cancer Institute which is 5 minutes walking distance from the general hospital, would do 3 consults/day at a max; potential to have an outpatient cancer clinic once a week
