Rehab Unit Features:

  • 28-bed rehab unit, ADC=25, 10 years in operation, the unit is a few miles from the acute care hospital
  • Join a physiatrist who’s already there and happy to see 10-15 patients/day
  • The other physiatrist is a senior physiatrist
  • Fairly typical rehab patients.  They run 71% compliant with CMS 13.  They are predominantly neuro based, but also have a mix of orthopedic and debility.  This facility is Stroke certified through the Joint Commission.
  • The unit is currently on paper charts but is transitioning to WellSky in the near future
  • All major specialties are represented on their Medical Staff
  • They have the best in Therapy, Nursing, Quality and Operations Leadership who are out-of-the-box thinkers driven to success and are attracting the best and brightest
  • Offers specialty programs and highly trained staff
  • The rehabilitation hospital programs primarily will focus on Brain Injury, Stroke, Amputation, Spinal Cord Injury, Neurological Conditions, Complicated Orthopedics, and Multiple Trauma.

 Responsibilities:

 

  • Determine patient admissions
  • Inpatient work at the rehab hospital
  • General PM&R diagnoses
  • See approximately 15+ patients/day

 Affiliation:

 

  • Employee, although not the traditional employee model as the position fosters independence.
  • Can also choose to be an independent contractor

Compensation:

 

  • If employee, base salary plus incentive based on RVU’s.
  • If independent contractor, stipend plus professional receipts

 Call:

  • Limited as the hospitalists are the primary doctor for the patients
  • On call during the weekends to review and complete admits. They usually work every other weekend.

Candidate Qualifications:

  • Board Certified/Qualified physiatrist with excellent interpersonal and communications skills
  • The ideal candidate will have vision and drive
