Facility System Features:

- The Medical Center’s 75-bed inpatient unit is one of few rehabilitation facilities in the U.S. accredited by the Committee on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) in eleven or more specialty areas.

The James and Connie Maynard Children’s Hospital:
- Located on the campus of ECU Health Medical Center, is designed to care for children from newborns to 18 years of age (and up to 21 years of age is patient is being followed by a pediatric physician).
- Provides highly specialized services including a pediatric intensive care, neonatal intensive care, kids immunosuppressed specialty unit, specialty care nursery, mother-baby unit, pediatric ECMO services, 24/7 children’s emergency department, acute dialysis and continuous renal replacement therapy, pediatric radiology, pediatric rehabilitation, general surgery, cardiovascular surgery, neurosurgery, and craniofacial surgery.
- Is a designated Children’s Miracle Network hospital, placing it among the nation’s top children’s facilities.
Responsibilities:
- Breakdown of inpatient for full time physician would be inpatient 5 half days per week and clinic 2-4 half days per week depending on their other duties in the department. A part-time position would need to be discussed but they are flexible to make it work in regard to the days per week of inpatient and # of clinics per week.
- Research is not required unless in a tenure track position. Research involvement with the residents is highly encouraged in the form of case reports/case studies for the AAPM&R and AAP.
