Why Aren’t They Calling Me Back

Some of you may be asking why practices and/or hospitals that you submitted your cv to haven’t called back.  There are many possible reasons and combinations of reasons.  Of course, the obvious is that your skill set does not match the skill set of the opportunity.  Sometimes this is the perception of the reader of the cv and not reality so it’s important to ferret out this information as soon as possible.  It’s hard to believe that this is possible so it’s important to not rule this possibility out.
The quality of your cv may not be remarkable.  Spacing errors, typo’s, lack of contact information are some of the mistakes to prevent.  Feel free to ask me anytime to review your cv.
The most common answer to this question however is that it takes time for a practice/hospital to review all the cv’s they receive.  Expect 2 weeks on average turnaround time for your cv review.  If you do not hear anything after 2 weeks, then it would be appropriate to contact the hospital/practice and remind them of your cv.
