Practice Features:

  • A physician-owned PM&R practice focused on delivering exceptional care in the post-acute rehab setting across multiple acute inpatient rehabilitation units and stand-alone facilities in Richmond and the surrounding area
  • Supportive and collaborative team-based approach

Responsibilities:

  • Play a crucial role in managing patient care in the inpatient setting in collaboration with a diverse team of healthcare professionals
  • Provide medical services to include patient evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment planning, with the option of performing simple invasive procedures.

Day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Admit, discharge, and round on inpatients
  • See 15-20 patients immediately
  • Attending Caseload
  • Develop robust care plans with access to many specialist and sub-specialist physicians/surgeons
  • Coordinate care plans with rehabilitation professionals including physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, rehabilitation nurses, and case managers
  • Proprietary billing process minimizes administrative tasks

Call: 

  • 1 in 4 weekend call

  • 64-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital
  • A wide range of physical rehabilitation services, a vast network of highly skilled, independent private practice physicians and Encompass Health therapists and nurses.
  • The most innovative equipment and rehabilitation technology, ensuring that all patients have access to the highest quality care.
  • Consistent patient volumes

Compensation:

  • $310,000 -$ 360,000

QUALIFICATIONS

  • MD or DO with state medical license or willingness to obtain state license
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation
  • Patient-centered commitment to excellence
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
  • Hospital-based physiatry experience preferred but not required
