Rehab Center Features:
• For the past 18 years, the Rehabilitation Center has built an excellent reputation in the region, serving a population exceeding 500,000 residents. As part of a six-hospital health system, they offer a broad spectrum of diagnostic, medical, surgical and rehabilitative services and a built-in referral system
• Over 650 rehabilitation admissions per year
• Work with an experienced Physiatrist in a busy 30-bed JCAHO accredited Rehabilitation Center
• Part of a Medical Center, a 495-bed acute care hospital within 1 mile of the Rehabilitation Center
• The current physiatrist there is doing locum tenens; a Medical Director has been hired
• The rehab hospital will be operational at the end of 2026
Responsibilities:
• Provide inpatient care, treatment, and services as the consultant
• Daily inpatient census=18
• Timely consultations at referring hospitals and facilities
• See 12-15 patients/day
• Can also develop outpatient if desired
• Until the new hospital starts, they want to start a consult service, increase ADC, work on training therapy and nursing staff to be comfortable taking more complex patients and start discussing OP programming
• Maintain medical records in a timely fashion and cooperate with billing, peer review and compliance programs
• Provide oversight and education for mid-level providers
• Can participate in didactics
• Identify and promote opportunities for improvement of care and actively participate in quality initiatives
• Monitor developments in physiatry and promote new programs that meet new program criteria
• Provide medical leadership to treatment team
• Enhance knowledge and understanding of capabilities and services among medical professionals and patient populations through regular participation in professional education sessions with network partners, discharge planning conferences at regional acute care hospitals, participation in ICU and other Rehab teams at network and regional acute care hospitals and similar activities, community outreach and programming opportunities presented or promoted by the Hospital
• Promotes the development and dissemination of new knowledge, preferably in peer reviewed journals
Call:
• Weekend call or if seven-on, seven-off, then seven days
• Plans are to have several physiatrists so call will be shared
Compensation:
• First year salary if desired
• wRVU-based production at $61.88 which equals approximately $330,000+ plus
• 10% bonus paid out per year if system, medical group & specific doctor meets goals – based on your yearly salary
